Got first jet boat 1972 Hallett when I was 13, dad and I rebuilt the whole boat and enjoyed it to the fullest thinking I was so cool until I met Jeff Green through a gal I was dating when I was 19 and then I realized I wasn't as cool as I thought! After a few years of hanging with Jeff and meeting a bunch of racers I sold that boat and built a new boat after I learned more about them and race that one for about 5 years. while on his race team and a few others, I thought it would be a good idea to build a faster jet cuz it was cheaper than a flat bottom, well I was kinda wrong-lol, so I built another jet and raced that for about 3 years and got bored of that. Then I found a flat! Pulled the jet boat motor out and put it in the flat for a few more years and decided it was time to kick it up a little and that's when I stepped into the blown alcohol setup. I have been running the 6.50 class for 4 years before the motor let loose. After being involved in the sport for 22 years (driving the last 13) having the motor blow it has forced me to take a break from racing for a bit while I focus on helping the club for the upcoming years, along with helping other racers with their programs.
When I first told my father about all the guys I met and started hanging with when I was younger, he told me they were drug dealers and I should stay away from them cuz they would get me hooked and I wouldn't have any money.......well, I should have listened to him, but I'm glad I didn't because the people in my life that I know now from being in the sport are the best people I have ever met and I wouldn't change it for anything!
